In our Meet Orange Planet section , we introduce the faces behind Orange Planet to you. Today we get to know our busy bee Sanne, Secretary & Commercial employee better.
Thank you for participating in Meet the team, Sanne. Could you tell us a little bit more about yourself?
Well, my name is Sanne Vermeulen, I am 27 years old, I come from Alphen, but I currently live with my boyfriend in Tilburg. In daily life I like to do things with my girlfriends and friends, visit festivals – even if that is not possible now – just have a drink and go out for dinner. Yes, I like all of that.
The good life! And what kind of festivals do you like to go to? Do you like a specific music genre?
No, actually I am very easy with that. If you send me to a hardcore party, I like it, a techno party I like it. I just really like the atmosphere at a festival. Just let me be with friends, a nice sun and a glass of wine and I will have a good time.
And, which festival is on your bucket list?
Well, to Tomorrowland! But I think this is the standard answer from a festival lover. Maybe next year…
Do you have any other hobbies?
Well exercising, I workout regularly. Must say that it has been quiet for a while now. But yes, I always enjoy doing that. And going on vacation. I still want to see a lot of the world.
Wonderful, what is your ultimate dream vacation?
Backpacking in Australia. A friend of mine lives there and the country seems so beautiful to me. So that’s on my bucket list. But next year my boyfriend and I really want to go to Curaçao and actually we also want to go to Thailand with some friends. And I really want to go to Mexico one more time. But whether we can go on holiday at all next year, that remains to be seen now in this corona time.
Sounds good, traveling, a bit of sports and mostly a lot of fun with friends. And which training did you actually do?
Yes, those are the things I love to do. As an education, I completed a Management Secretary at the Florijn College in Breda. I found it difficult to choose a study program, but with this study program you can go in many directions in the field of an ‘office job’.
And is this your first job?
No, I did an internship at two companies and after completing my last internship I was allowed to continue working at the company. So I worked really administratively in the order confirmations department there. I worked there for 4 years. And then I came across this.
How long have you been working at Orange Planet ?
Since May 1, 2016, so next May I’m here for 5 years.
So that has been a while. What exactly are you doing here now?
My activities here are very varied and that makes the work very enjoyable. My tasks include: various administrative tasks, operator, order processing, warehouse management, and recently I also tackled the emergency response project. So basically anything and everything. A lot of fun to do.
How did you end up here?
My previous job had a lot less variety and I found myself starting to miss the challenge. At that time there were no opportunities to further develop myself there. While looking for another job, I came across this vacancy. It said Secretary 2.0., With a lot of different activities in the description and then I thought, well that sounds good. Also that it was not the traditional secretary tasks, such as taking minutes, but the position in a more modern guise, that appealed to me.
And that for almost 5 years. Is the variety in your position also the reason that you have been here for so long?
Well actually yes. I have to say, it really doesn’t feel like 5 years. Orange Planet is a small company and that really appeals to me. In a large company you quickly become a number and here it is all very personal.
Is that also what makes working here just that little bit different?
Yes, you work a lot more 1-on-1 and you have a lot more contact with your colleagues and also directly with the boss. That makes it slightly different and that is something that I personally appreciate very much.
And then we also have a mega range.
Yes and it also changes very often, I like that too. So there is always a product that appeals to me. Like the HipNthigh , I’m a fan!
Is that currently your favorite product?
Hell yes! I like to do fitness and when I saw that product, I thought: gosh what can you do with it? It is therefore a sports accessory for your buttocks and legs and well, what does a woman want .. beautiful buttocks! I think it’s a useful product and the videos you have with it on YouTube, the workouts , are easy to do. In addition, it does not take much time and it has a real effect. So that’s why a product that stands out for me.

Well not really for a dish or something, but biscuits, candy, chips. Yes, I have a real sweet tooth. If you stand next to my bed with a bag of M & M’s, for example, I will wake up yes.
